Includes the diagnosis, treatment and prophylaxis of the diseases of the eye.

Common diseases include:

• Pterygium;
• Glaucoma;
• Cataract;
• Chalazion;
• These diseases are mostly surgically treated.

In some cases, therapeutic treatment plan involves medications: mydriatics, anti-glaucoma medications, substances that narrow the blood vessels, anti-allergenic preparations, anti-inflammatory drugs, etc.

Emergency states are relatively rare, but include: traumas, acute infections, chemical burns, sudden blindness. These conditions require immediate medical attention.
